HAIR ANALYSIS REVEALS HEAVY METAL BODY BURDEN

Hair analysis can detect and measure the content of heavy metals and minerals of the hair.

This applies to animals and people. Abnormal values of both relate to the same pathology expressed in man and animals. The Global Environmental Monitoring System (GEMS) of the United Nations Environment Program selected human hair as one of the important monitoring materials for worldwide biological monitoring of pollution. If your hair reveals the presence of heavy metals (arsenic, lead, mercury, aluminium, cadmium, selenium, nickel, copper and iron) this means the tissues and organs of your body contain them too. The hair is a spill over from what is in the body. Generally, heavy metals cannot be detected by blood or urine tests.

Heavy metals are toxic, the severity of symptoms being related to the absolutes consumed, and the time factor involved. Large doses consumed can lead to death immediately, smaller amounts over many months or years produce chronic degenerative diseases. Heavy metals chemically relate to mineral content of the body. For example, Aluminium will displace calcium, magnesium and manganese due to its valence in the atomic table. This produces a deficiency of these three minerals with metabolic dysfunctions.

Minerals are the “sparkplugs” of life. They are involved in almost all enzyme reactions within the body.  Without enzyme activity, life ceases to exist. A trace mineral analysis is preventative as well as being useful as a screening tool.

What are some of the symptoms of mineral imbalance?  If you have a deficiency of calcium in the hair, this reflects a deficiency of calcium in the body. Blood tests will reveal normal calcium levels, because there are physiological mechanisms to keep it normal or anyone would die of a titanic seizure and heart attack. The body will give up its calcium from the teeth, or bone to keep that normal calcium blood level, thus producing osteoporosis (with increased frequency of fractures), dental caries, muscle cramping of the skeletal muscles and muscles of the heart.

On the other hand, if your hair shows elevated calcium level two or three times normal, then your calcium level within the body may be elevated too. This produces a strong tendency for arteriosclerosis in people and arthritic calcium deposits in the joints of people and animals.

Depression - toxicity with Lead and Aluminium.

Hypoglycaemia - elevations of sodium to potassium ratios with potassium deficiency prevents blood glucose from crossing the cell membrane and contribute to inflammations and stress. This can be associated with many heavy metals. Aluminium toxicity lowers manganese levels that influence blood sugar disturbances.

Hyperactivity - can be related to Lead poisoning in children, and some forms of mental illness.

Headaches - almost all heavy metals.

Hypertension - can be due to elevated sodium to magnesium ratio, and elevated sodium to potassium ratios causing oedema and water retention in the body with increased blood pressure. Many heavy metals play a role.

Arthritis - can be related to Aluminium and Lead’s relationship to calcium levels in the body. Copper is implicated in various collagen diseases and rheumatoid arthritis, also elevated Iron’s association to Aluminium toxicity (“rusty” joint syndrome).

Lowered resistance to infections and healing are related to zinc deficiencies caused by toxic levels of Aluminium and Copper.

Hair loss - Selenium toxicity, and premature greying from Aluminium.

Anaemia and bone marrow depression - seen with Iron deficiencies and Aluminium and Copper Toxicity.

Hypo and Hyperthyroidism - Aluminium toxicity.

Prostate Disorders - Aluminium toxicity interferes with zinc metabolism necessary for the health of the prostate.

Digestive Disorders - Aluminium can cause muscle cramping and colic, Copper causes liver
degeneration. Aluminium causes hemosiderosis (a liver disease with increased reserves of iron in the liver) by preventing metabolism of Iron.

Diabetes Mellitus - can be caused by a deficiency of Chromium, magnesium, manganese and Vitamin B6.

Musculo-Skeletal Disorders - Lead toxicity is linked to Multiple Sclerosis, and Aluminium is
associated with muscle weakness by its lowering of manganese, magnesium and calcium.

Cardiovascular Disease - can be associated with Aluminium, Arsenic, Selenium.

Skin rashes, alopecia and allergies can be due to intoxication with Aluminium, and Selenium.

Mental Illness - high levels of Copper and Iron can cause Schizophrenia, Paranoia, and suicidal tendencies.

Epilepsy - is related to magnesium deficiency- so too is leukaemia, kidney and heart problems.

Aluminium displaces magnesium.

Cancer - Beryllium, Chromium, Lead, Nickel, Aluminium, Selenium and Arsenic poisoning can
cause cancer.

Foetal Deaths - mercury toxicity in the mother’s system can kill her unborn baby. The TV program “20-20” recently aired, stated that, approximately 60,000 foetuses will develop methyl mercury toxicity in-utero this year, because those mothers eat swordfish, shark and tuna fish. Cadmium and Nickel cause congenital abnormalities and pregnancy toxaemia.

Kidney dysfunctions, and Cystitis with crystal and stone formation - can be due to Aluminium toxicity of the liver and pancreas.
